Wormsensing and Safran demonstrate lubrication monitoring at the Aerospace Test & Development Show

Dragonfly® IO and Safran's microMA form a single sensing chain, shown live on Booth 400 at MEETT Toulouse on 29–30 September.

Wormsensing × Safran

At this year's Aerospace Test & Development Show, Wormsensing and Safran brought together two complementary technologies to explore a new approach to lubrication monitoring. The collaboration was demonstrated live on 29 and 30 September at MEETT, Toulouse, on Booth 400.

Two technologies, one signal

A lubrication problem rarely announces itself. Before it becomes visible through heat, wear or failure, the mechanical behaviour of the system has already begun to change.

Dragonfly® IO captures these subtle variations directly at their source. microMA acquires the signal and transmits it wirelessly, through a compact architecture designed for demanding test environments.

Together, they form a distributed sensing chain that turns hidden physical changes into actionable data, and open new perspectives for flight testing and aircraft predictive maintenance.

The demonstration: on a ball-screw bench, the lubrication level is derived from the Dragonfly® IO strain signal. It rises as the screw is greased, falls as it dries, and follows the temporary effect of ethanol.

The demonstration ran on both days of the show, in Toulouse.
