In 2019, Jean-Sébastien Moulet was among the laureates of i-Lab, the innovation competition that gave Wormsensing its first momentum. Seven years later, the CEO and co-founder of Wormsensing returned to it as president of the jury.

On 16 September, the award ceremony organised by the Secrétariat général pour l'investissement brought together the 2026 i-Lab and i-PhD laureates, in the presence of Anne Le Hénanff and Bruno Bonnell. Jean-Sébastien Moulet addressed them alongside Valérie Taly, president of the i-PhD jury.

From promise to product

At the time, Dragonfly® was still only a technological promise. Today, our sensors are produced in Grenoble and deployed with major industrial companies.

In between, the company learned that a technology that works is not yet a product. It only truly comes to life when it meets customers to whom it brings real value, and when it stands up to the realities of the field.

A message to the 2026 laureates

Behind each application this year lay years of research, the inventiveness to find strong uses for society, difficult choices, and above all the same audacity: leaving the laboratory to become an entrepreneur.

To all the laureates, well done. Make the most of this recognition, and of this label that opens the doors of entrepreneurship. Then keep all your energy for what comes next: the hardest, and most exciting, part starts now.

To those who were not selected, the message was just as clear: keep going. The selection was tough, and no one knows what a project will become.

Wormsensing thanks the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Space and Bpifrance for their trust, and the members of the jury for the quality of their work throughout the competition. Their detailed, precise and honest reports made it possible to truly understand, assess and compare each project.

In 2019, i-Lab gave us a first momentum. Seven years later, the mountain is still ahead of us at Wormsensing. It now stands before this new cohort too. I wish them a wonderful climb.
